Edward Mirell is the only consumer product company that has been awarded with the Titanium Advancement Award by the International Titanium Association. Titanium is harder than steel, but lighter than aluminum. All metals can scratch, but Titanium is abundantly more scratch resistant than other metals in the market.

- Timoku designs symbolize the joining of two sounds in a single integrated creation, far greater in strength than its components, yet still preserving the essence of individuality. During the samurai Era, Mokume Game was used to create adornments on the handles of the Samurai’s sword. These marks were considered to be symbols of status & wealth.
- Today the technique is used to create contemporary art & jewelry. The process involves layering thin sheets of black & gray titanium & exposing them to extreme heat & pressure which causes the layers to fuse rather than melt together.
- The end result is a unique & distinctive layered pattern in the metal that mimics the grain on wood.

Preparation of the base component is critical to success.
Crete
Like Titanium, Tantalum, & Niobium, Crete’s name is derived from the rich mythology primarily connected with the Ancient Greek gods. It is concrete-like appearance was the catalyst in its name selection. The earliest large scale users of concrete technology were the ancient Romans.
Crete emulates the porous textured look & color of concrete in a material that offers limitless flexibility. It can be machined, set, formed & much more without the limitations of the original material such as in weight, durability, & wear-ability.
Carbon Fiber

Cobalt
A newer material being used in the construction of alternate metal jewelry, it is light-weight & hypo-allergenic. Its platinum-look differentiates it from both tungsten & titanium. Cobalt is very scratch resistant & is made more scratch resistant than titanium, but not quite as hard as tungsten. Cobalt rings will not chip or crack.
